Celebration Time!

Email us the occasions which all Manchester United fans would sooner forget!

Oldham v Manu 94/5 result 1-0 - Perfect!
Man Utd 0 v Watford 2 (Carling Cup) 26th Sep 2007 Att: 74,055
In 1978 United started playing Queen's "We are the champions" before each game until Notts Forest came into town. Forest, not only took two the points but beat utd 4-0. That song is not played much at the theatre of shame anymore!!!
13th September 2008. Manchester United dropped to 9th when Liverpool beat them 2-1. Brilliant game Liverpool played great whereas ManUre were dire.
Manpoo fans will rather want to forget the 4-1 thrashing they experienced at old Trafford on 14 March 2009.

Newcastle United 5 - Manchester United 0 (1996/7)

The move for our first began when Beckham gave the ball away to Ginola. He danced past Gary Neville, withstood the barging of Beckham and passed to Ferdinand, whose shot was deflected for a corner. Ginola took it, Shearer outjumped the defence and Peacock headed down towards goal. Irwin scooped the ball away from beneath the bar, but, as television technology was to prove, referee Dunn rightly ruled that it had crossed the goal-line. The inevitable arguments led to Schmeichel's booking, but, although a Cantona free kick was to float alarmingly close to Srnicek's own bar, on the half-hour Ginola was to score a sublime second goal, and there was not a semblance of doubt about its quality or its merit. Ginola turned on the left-hand edge of the penalty box and, with his right foot, hit the ball across Schmeichel, angled and arrowed for the inside of the far post. Schmeichel almost had whiplash as he turned, startled, to see the ball go by. A few minutes later, Shearer, from the same distance, struck the base of his post. Now, with Batty ensuring that Newcastle were not beaten, as before, in the competitive area of midfield, one could positively sense the rout. However, Manchester United did not give up, and Beckham provided enough accurate ball from the right for a better finisher than Poborsky to have scored more than once. After 63 minutes, Shearer produced a cross that invited Ferdinand to rise majestically. The header struck the crossbar and came down, Ferdinand for an instant looked anguished, but then ecstatic as backspin carried the ball over the line. Shearer again was the instigator of goal number four, in the 76th minute. He began a move on the left, Beardsley had a shot clawed down, Ferdinand also was denied on the rebound, but Shearer accepted the second ricochet to beat Schmeichel. Seven minutes from time, Albert, the man of Newcastle's defence this proud afternoon, glided forward to beat Schmeichel with a looping left-foot sliced shot. He meant it, all right.

Newcastle 1996, October.. St. James Park.
Chelsea beat Manchester United 4-1 on penalties at Wembley, on 09 Aug 2009 to win Community Shield. With Ryan Giggs and Evra missing the penalties horribly.
Memorable Manc Mauling I had the pleasure of flying from Sydney, Australia to be at Anfield to witness the 3-1 spanking of the mancs on 4th November, 2001. Young Mikey Owen opened the scoring after 32 mins with a sublime curling effort. A few minutes later the 'Pool won a freekick about 25yds out.
As John Arne Riise shaped up for the layoff, the Kop started singing 'John Arne Riise... I wanna know... how you scored that goal' - to the tune of 'Hey Baby' Then with one of the best freekicks of all time, he drilled his effort off the underside of the crossbar with an absolute screamer and nearly tore the goal down, sending the whole of Anfield absolutely mental. The song then rang on and on for what seemed an eternity. Beckham pulled one back on 50 minutes but Owen scored again
2 mins later, rising high above the manc defenders to head it in and seal a sensational victory, to which 'Are you City in disguise?' rang out across the whole of Anfield for the next 5 mins or so. It was my first trip to Anfield and is without a doubt - after 32years of living
- THE best day of my life!!
